OTHMAN
- Adventure of Othman’s Hajj with his
family Othman is a 90 min. animation movie for children between 4 and up. Othman and his family live in a village nearby Istanbul. Othman's grandfather is a friend of Ertoghrool Kazi family whose son is founder of the Ottoman Empire. Othman's parents decide to take a cruise to go Hajj. Indeed, their journey becomes a dangerous adventure when pirates attack the cruise ship. When they try to escape in battlefield crowd in a boat, Othman's parents get caught but Othman escapes. Being separated from his parents makes him feel bad, but Othman keeps praying to Allah that someone would rescue him and his parents. His adventure in small boat on endless sea ends when two wise men, one of them happens to be a beloved friend of Othman's grandfather, find him floating. While picturing the simple life of Muslims in Anatolia in past, at the same time it also shows examples of hospitality, love, respect, and truth-truthfulness. It also teaches the difference between Halal and Haram, and demonstrates life of a a Muslim family. Children learn centuries old Islamic values from this story that takes place around 12th century, in Anatolia. |
